Guest Speaking Services

As an Anishinaabe consultant, facilitator, and storyteller, I offer guest speaking sessions that bridge lived experience, cultural knowledge, and professional expertise. I'm available to speak at your next conference, speaking engagements, panels, workshop, educational events, or classroom session. My presentations invite honest conversation and reflection on topics that shape Ojibway (First Nation) experiences in Canada today; from First Nations citizenship and Indian Act registration to Gladue report writing and sentencing, post-secondary life, and federal employment. Drawing on years of practice and study, I blend personal narrative with policy insight to help audiences understand not only the systems that affect First Nations peoples but also the human stories within them. Each session is grounded in authenticity, cultural respect, and the goal of creating meaningful learning and change.

First Nations Citizenship (Indian Act Registration)

As a subject matter expert in First Nations citizenship and Indian Act registration, I offer audiences a grounded understanding of the laws, policies, and personal realities surrounding Indian registration. Drawing on years of study and hands-on experience with Bills C-31, C-3, and S-3 (including a national engagement project centered on Bill S-3) I explain how federal amendments have reshaped who is recognized as “Indian” under the Act. My presentations bridge legal analysis with lived experience, exploring how registration affects identity, belonging, and community connection. I help audiences navigate the complexities of policy and lived impacts, and acknowledging both the privileges and harms embedded in the system.

Gladue Reports and Sentencing

With extensive frontline experience, I have authored over one hundred Gladue reports for Aboriginal offenders across Ontario. My guest sessions unpack both the practice and perception of Gladue reports; discussing their intended purpose, misconceptions, and real-world implications within the justice system. Having trained more than fifteen Gladue writers and provided information sessions to Judges, Crown attorneys, defence counsel, probation officers, and Native court workers, I bring a balanced, evidence-based perspective. My approach challenges the stigma that the Gladue principles are seen as “get-out-of-jail cards,” instead reframing them as vital tools for restorative justice and systemic change.

Post-Secondary Experience

In academic settings, I speak candidly about the intersections of education, culture, and identity from an Anishinaabe perspective. Drawing parallels between the post-secondary and off-reserve environments, I explore how First Nation students can navigate culture shock, institutional barriers, systemic discrimination, and the challenges of belonging within Western frameworks. My sessions encourage open conversation about decolonizing campuses, fostering inclusion, and embracing First Nations knowledge systems. Whether engaging students, faculty, or administrators, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to inspire awareness, resilience, and systemic improvement in higher education spaces.

Federal Work Experience

My time within the federal public service provides valuable insight into the opportunities and systemic barriers faced by First Nation, Inuit, and Métis employees. In my presentations, I share the lived realities of navigating federal structures; from entering and advancing in the system to confronting institutional biases and discrimination. I highlight the importance of training, mentorship, and culturally safe workspaces as essential pathways to inclusion and retention. These sessions often lead to meaningful dialogue on how departments can decolonize workplace culture and policy, ensuring that First Nations, Inuit, and Métis employees can thrive and lead within Canada’s public institutions.
